🌸 Pregnancy

Prenatal mental health training for therapists

Pregnancy is often described only as a happy time. Many of your clients feel something more complicated: worry that will not switch off, old trauma that wakes up with every appointment, or a medical pregnancy that leaves no room to breathe. Our pregnancy trainings help you recognize what is typical, what is not, and how to respond with skill.

Clinical focus areas

  • Anxiety and uncertainty
  • Previous trauma resurfacing
  • High-risk pregnancies and medical stress
  • Identity shifts into motherhood

What you’ll learn

Skills you can use with your next pregnancy client

  • Screen for perinatal anxiety and depression during pregnancy, not only after birth
  • Recognize when medical procedures, exams or loss history re-activate earlier trauma
  • Support clients through high-risk pregnancy, bed rest, NICU planning and medical uncertainty
  • Hold space for ambivalence and identity change without pathologizing it
  • Know when to coordinate with OB, midwifery and psychiatric prescribers

Why it matters

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders can begin during pregnancy, and they are among the most common complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Clients who are screened and supported before birth have a head start on recovery after it.
